I walked in to David's exhibition with my husband at the Leigh Art Trail, and the moment we saw this piece, we couldn't stop coming back to it. Of all the paintings in the room, this one called to us. The colour, the movement, the feeling, it was as if it was painted just for us. We both saw weeping willows over a river, instantly taking us back to when we first met in Cambridge and walked those beautiful river paths ourselves. This August, we celebrated nine years of marriage, and that painting felt like a little snapshot of the beginnings of our relationship. Now it hangs in our main living space, where we get to appreciate it every single day. I?m a writer, and I love how its modern bursts of vibrant pinks, turquoise, and purples sit next to my vintage Georgian writing desk. The new contrasting with the old. It's just gorgeous and we are so delighted to own a DKirkman Original.

From helping me select the right piece for my room, sending me computer generated images of what the real thing would look like in my room, to changing the painting a little to accommodate my colour scheme, basically giving it the same attention to detail as a commission, to crating it to me in another country so safely, all the while staying in touch with me throughout the process.
